What are the key leadership characteristics needed to lead an organization during growth?
An effective leader during the growth stage of a business must understand the importance of communication both internally and externally to the business. The methods of communication must take into consideration the various viewpoints of each social change period to maximize the potential and impact of the messages being communicated. This leadership associated with business growth must implement systems and organizational change within the company to plan, launch and monitor the business changes during the business expansion. As successful expansion is witnessed, leadership must decentralize decision making to support future expansion. The role of leadership as it moves from creation to maturity is one of a lessening internal role and gradually moving to more of an external support system to the business.
